Ratko Mladic Trial On Hold

The long-awaited trial of alleged war criminal Ratko Mladic has come to a screeching halt after just two days. The presiding judge has delayed the case because of quote “significant disclosure errors” by prosecutors, who failed to provide all of their evidence to Mladic’s defense team. Mladic’s attorneys have requested a six-month delay, but the judge aims to have a new starting date as soon as possible.

Iran Exporting Weapons To Syria

A new report from the UN points the finger at Iran for exporting weapons to the Syrian government, a clear violation of a ban on weapon sales. Speaking on condition of anonymity, a diplomat with knowledge of the as-yet-unreleased report told reporters that three shipments of Iranian weapons – two of which bound for Syria – had been intercepted within the last year.

The company has agreed to pay nearly 37-thousand dollars in fines, after the Illinois Department of Agriculture found that certain packages of their Oscar Meyer wieners, roast beef, and roasted turkey breast weighed less than advertised. Kraft says it was an honest mistake.

Ratko Mladic Trial Underway

Ratko Mladic is finally on trial in The Hague. He’s accused of orchestrating the ethnic cleansing in Bosnia – part of the former Yugoslavia – which claimed the lives of 8 thousand Muslims. Mladic is facing 11 charges of genocide, crimes against humanity, and war crimes relating to the early-90s war.
